A Closer Look At A Free Spirited Tech Analyst

Alright, I don’t know if anyone else gets stressed during the holidays but man…this past week has been crazy. Not only did I have to worry about work, I also had to prepare myself for the very first Thanksgiving at my in-laws (which went surprisingly smoothly. Thank you Jesus.) On top of leftover turkey and overly sweet pumpkin pie, I got really really sick. So to say that this past week has been crazy…that would be an understatement. But the hardships of this holiday season seem to dim today. Because you know what…it’s Friday. And on Friday, nothing seems to bother me.

Welcome back to Feature Friday’s where we highlight one spectacular individual from the Entice community each week. These individuals will range from Entice team members, influencers, everyday users of the platform, and their networks. Today, I have the honor of introducing you to Naveen Shastri. Naveen is a Bay area native so just recently graduated from Claremont Mckenna College with a degree in Economics and Computer Science. “I am apart of the Covid class of 2020” he reminded me with a laugh that was so infectious I could only laugh in response. He just started working for Entice a few weeks ago which made me feel less like the company baby and far more mature than I actually am. Naveen is a really enthusiastic person, talking a million miles a minute which meant I was scribbling down his answers like a mad woman.

At the beginning of our interview he said that he was “really excited to be on the team and excited to bring whatever skills I have to contribute as a business analyst.” Naveen is a man that wears a multitude of different hats and he was especially excited about Entice because he got to dip his toes into various different aspects of a startup company. He had a really positive outlook on life which encouraged me because Entice is a company filled with different people from all walks of life. This is a place where women and men alike can share their thoughts and ideas without concern. I mean, just last week I suggested we make Entice a TikTok and now I am spearheading that project. Go follow us @ enticedotcom by the way. The content is pretty fire!

Naveen is the type of person that is adaptable. He thrives in chaos and quite frankly, accepts a challenging and fast paced work environment to help him grow. He also prides himself on being a people person, seeing life from different points of view. Talking with him was refreshing because I haven’t been able to connect with a coworker who is around my same age and demographic. I am currently a college student graduating in the spring so school really connected us. Not only did he have great things to say about his own personal approach to life but also his approach to technology. Graduating with a degree in Computer Science, Naveen is sharp and had many things to say about technology as it relates to 2020.

“We are all on Zoom, Zoom University, Zoom online, for many hours a day. How do you make that scene alot better? Interest in technology is a passion of mine for sure.”

But Naveen isn’t your typical computer geek. He loves going outdoors for walks, runs, bike rides, and hikes. He is lucky to live in the Bay Area where such beautiful scenery is available 24/7. I don’t have that luxury being in LA. I only get to look at skyscrapers in the morning. Yay me. Along with exercising, Naveen is a foodie. He has a keen sense for geography which means that he has basically tried every restaurant in the Bay and exhausted every fun extracurricular option which is quite impressive. When I asked what his favorite place to go to was, he said that he doesn’t go to places twice so it was hard for him to decide. He did say that University Avenue Downtown was something I needed to check out, however. Towards the end of the interview, i asked who he thought his role model was and he said….DRUM ROLL PLEASE! HARRY POTTER.

Yes, you heard me right. Being a fellow Potterhead, this sparked a long conversation about sorting house options, favorite characters, and the fact that I was a Slytherin and he was a Hufflepuff. So I would say that the interview ended on a very positive not indeed.

Rapid-Fire Questions: (Fall) Edition

  1. What are you thankful for this season?

“There is alot to be thankful for. But probably my family and friends. I couldn’t do what I was doing if I didn’t have them around.”

2. Hot chocolate or apple cider?

“Oh my god…hot chocolate. I am tired of apple cider.”

3. Have you ever jumped in a pile of leaves?

“Have I ever jumped in a pile of leaves? Uhm…no.”
